Melody’s Stories: The Enduring Identity Project accepts submissions from anyone, anywhere, who wants to remember someone whose complete or partial identity was denied them in death. When they died, where they died, why they died is irrelevant. Transgender people whose legal name never matched their chosen one. Those who lived their life in the closet. Or even those who died with their name intact, but their identity and true loved ones denied. As such, we invite you to complete the following online form about the person you would like to remember. If you can’t complete the form online, download the Word file, fill it out, and email it to us at Please fill out as much as you can, and be absolutely sure to include contact information for at least two people we can speak to. Also, if you can, please upload some photos as well. Please be sure to include to their name in the name of actual photo file.

NOTE: If you consider yourself a writer, the editors at Melody’s Stories: The Enduring Identity Project welcome pre-written submissions. At the end of the form there is a place you can upload completed life stories if you so choose. We still ask, however, that you fill in the information on the form so we can ensure the accuracy and integrity of all submissions. Other than editing for style, the editors will do their best to leave submitted writing as close to the original writing as possible.

Again, thank you for reading, and know that we welcome all kinds of stories; exclusion is our last goal. If you’re not sure, email us. You’ll be hearing from us soon.
